CUSTOM USER MENU for the PDW-700 and PDW-F800:

One of the most powerful features of Sony’s PDW-700 and PDW-F800 camcorders is the ability to create your own custom USER MENU system.  As anyone who has used either of these camcorders knows, the organization and structure of the default menus can be confusing and hard to navigate.

Like other Sony camcorders, the menus were clearly designed, labeled, and organized by engineers – not camera operators. The F800/700 has more than 500 menus spread over about 80 menu pages. And although each one of those menus is very important, how many do you really need to change on a regular basis? Maybe a couple dozen?  That’s why Vortex Media has crafted a streamlined menu system that looks nothing like the camera’s original USER MENU.

“VORTEX EFP” is a custom USER MENU for the F800/700 that will make using the camera faster, easier, and less frustrating.  VORTEX EFP will save you many hours creating your own USER MENU from scratch. Think of it as a software plug-in for your camera.  All you have to do is order VORTEX EFP, and then follow the easy instructions for putting it on a Memory Stick and transferring the file into your camera. VORTEX EFP eliminates all but two of the camera’s original 18 USER MENU pages and replaces them with a new 17 page USER MENU (15 pages for the PDW-700) that actually makes sense.

Most of the camera’s most frequently needed functions are located on these pages so you don’t have to go searching through the other 80 menu pages to find what you’re looking for.  And if you don’t completely agree with the way we’ve designed VORTEX EFP, no problem!  You can use the camera to change the order of pages, rename pages, and change the menus that are found on most of the pages to suit your exact needs. Order VORTEX EFP today and start saving time now!
